  • I found a Great Photography Tips Blog and Business!

This photographer has a blog where she posts tips and templates that you can download.  She also has some stuff for sale that you can use such as tip cards you can carry with you while you are out shooting.  She has some very interesting products, check it out!

Free Photography Tips and downloadable freebies! I found this lady's site after doing some searching on the internet. You can download all sorts of templates for post processing, including "abc" books and "Grunge" textures to beginning photography paperwork (that cost $28) for legal stuff and such. Very interesting! Check it out if you are into it.

  • Photography Classes Have Begun!

Well, it has been over a month since I last blogged.  Since my last photo shoot I have co-booked a wedding and I have another family session before the end of the summer.  Hopefully other business will pick up as well.  All my friends are having babies now, so they need pictures again. :)

Recently, I started a six week photography course through continuing education at UTA.  So far, I am liking it and looking forward to all the technical things I will learn.  I am becoming more familiar with exposure and learning how to meter it. I love this because I have learned how to compose a photograph but I didn't learn how to correctly use my camera settings.  I am looking forward to this!

Recently, last week I learned an interesting piece of information.  I learned that Minolta was bought out my Sony and a Sony DSLR is basically a Minolta camera.  Minolta lenses will fit on Sony cameras.  This was exciting for me because I was able to share this information with my cousin who has been waiting for Minolta to come out with a DSLR so he would not have to purchase all new lenses.

During this time I have finally uploaded my official new photography site and I'm working on new business cards.  I've been inspired lately to work on all sorts of neat promotional materials.

    new website: www.christinaleephoto.com

The site is hosted through Photobiz.com which I love!  The maintenance cost is not bad and you can change the look of your site in just one click.  I was greatful to find this place because they have the flash sites all set up, and I didn't have to spend a whole bunch of time working on my photography site--even though I could probably do it myself, it would have taken a while. You can add carts so people can order prints off your website and it has links to your blogs and whatnot.  The customer service is also great.  The employees are very helpful and are very eager to help their customers out!

Well, that's about it for now.  Have a good rest of the summer!

  • Family Photo Session

IMG_3025bw I shot a family photo session of my friends, Casey and Sheri Joyce, with their young son, Levi.  This is the first time I've seen Levi since he was born.  They are visiting from Missouri and called me to come hang out with them this afternoon, so of course, I brought my camera!  I had so much fun with this, and it was the first shoot of its kind that I have done.  All lighting was natural coming in from the windows and I think this setup really fit Sheri and Casey's personalities.

  • Ahhhh... Summer!

It's here! It's here! Summer of 2009 is here!  Now--it's off to varnishing a living room wall, rebuilding a website, and job searching for someone other than me.
No vacations planned, they got canceled, but I'm still looking forward to some fun none the less. Eric Clapton is coming to Dallas later this month--and I'm so exited to finally see him in concert!

  • It's a Baby!

No, she's not mine.  She's my cousin's newest addition to her family--Baily Leanne.  This was taken on Good Friday.  She was supposed to arrive the Monday after Easter--but she just couldn't wait a whole year to get a visit from the Easter Bunny.

I love photographing new babies.  I wish I had more opportunities to do so.  Angie, (my cousin) seemed to really like the photos; which makes me happy that I was able to please someone with my photography.

Capturing precious moments like these is what drives my photography passion--I love to be a sort of historian for people's personal lives.  The one thing about capturing history with photographs is the emotion that it shows and the vision it provides.  While writing can give us a picture, a picture can give us chapters of what was going on.

About Me

  • I am a recent graduate with a degree in Secondary Education, although I have an underlying passion for photography. I worked for the university publication staff for three years, and eventually began branching out and doing my own work, mostly for other students and people that I worked with.
